Abantika Mazumdar’s poem: Memories

Memories like plume of smoke

contemplating all day and night

Some as clear as the bright sun

some faded away like the foam of the sea.

Memories of madness, laughter and joy,

of love and tenderness that felt so true

of times, minutes and seconds that we

shared with those

whom we bid a fond ciao.

Memories of childhood days,

of innocence and plays,

of dreams that we dreamt with our heart

and stories that we weaved with love.

Held in our very souls,

A treasure that we’ll always treasure!

Abantika Mazumdar is an aspiring writer currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in English Literature. Her poems have previously found homes in several anthologies each one carrying her recurring preoccupations , emotion in its rawest form, the weight of silence, the stubbornness of hope, and the invisible threads that bind one person to another, and when she isn’t writing, she’s usually got a paintbrush in one hand and an Oreo shake in the other. She writes not to explain these things, but to sit with them a little longer.
