Paul Tristram’s three more poems

The Music, Light & Chaos To My Pathway

We begin to ‘Take Flight’

by centring ourselves

… and breaking free

of all eternal restrictions.

I was born unique,

with no other colour

able to match the glow

radiating from my Soul.

I learnt to tune in

to the natural rhythm

I was birthed into

… by finding my Art,

and then using ‘Focus’

as a ‘Poetic Jackhammer’.

A Collector Explains

I really do not need raised champagne glasses

and party poppers

to feel a sense of pride and achievement

… I grow extremely quiet

when I’ve woven Magic into the day,

and pause slightly

before turning the page and continuing on.

I used to work with/through ‘extremes’

… but now I find

that a steady sense of inner balance

is an important work tool,

helping to conveyor-belt

a constant rhythm to bannister-slide along.

Artists ‘Capture’ fleeting things

… NAILING them to canvases,

movie reels, the written word…

and ‘Imprisoning’ them in music/photographs.

Flighty On Purpose

Sobriety… like a butterfly

rather than

a sledgehammer…

movement,

and breathing space.

Dipping in and out

of ‘Definitions’…

realms, lands, places.

Freedom… whilst

following a natural,

instinctive ‘Rhythm’.

Inquisitiveness…

like a torch lighting up

wherever I direct its beam.

Paul Tristram is a widely published Welsh writer. He yearns to tattoo porcelain bridesmaids instead of digging empty graves for innocence at midnight; this too may pass, yet. His novel “Crazy Like Emotion” is published by Close To The Bone. Short story collection “Kicking Back Drunk ‘Round The Candletree Graves”, and full-length poetry collections “It Is Big And It Is Clever”, “South Wales Outlaw”, “The Gutter Symposium”, “The Dark Side Of British Poetry”, “Uncivil Disobedience Is My Forte” and “Half A Long Century Of Anarchy, Bedlam, Chaos And Deplorably-Depraved Decadence” are all published by Hunsbury Press.
