Akash Sagar Chouhan’s two poems

Letters to Lisa

Pebbles and stones hint and gesture, about

the arrival of moss. Man and woman, otherwise

humans have always been clandestine.

Stages of life serve to be a personal affair,

between the admirer and benchmark. Body

believes in realizing on its own.

In the field of hormonal balance, induced mechanism helps.

Lend a tale to borrow from adolescent smiles

Use a bucketful of water to borrow worth from a tree

Stand in front a mirror and audition your love

Mothers do not tend to sermonize a lecture nor

share their experience, especially when motherhood

waits by the corner or has arrived.

Like father becomes relatively an outdated term.

Tea Garden at Vert Mont

Even before odd words could recognize

‘tis the hieroglyphics that comprehends, finds

the left side of brain, convincing the right

to embrace the tiniest sign of relief.

Utopian fine, dystopian fine.

Seldom the use of sickle shaped question

marks, introspect to reassure –

modesty supine humble. ‘You’

in itself playwrights a dialogue ‘tween I,

when I fell in love with a girl, who nicknamed

herself as Ants. By the time the fire could spread

in forest, Tao made an everlasting impression:

Instead of getting uprooted, it taught me to surrender

like the soft verdant.

Renunciating the locomotives, forsaking an inked skin,

I walk into the meadows to meet my Sufi therein.

A platoon of ant marches to the conch blowing

in the podium, all my friends with their respective

guitars have tuned their forks to their limbs.

Notes those are flat and sharp may be arduous

to meet but once met, relief is certain.

In lotus posture, closed eyes are

advised to effortlessly see. Self-permutating within

myself everywhere, talkative being the earth,

humor is the hymn. In her garden of Eden,

laughter was bartered, at first as medicine.
