Believe the World
The world is vast, a tapestry of old,
With stories yet to be completely told.
Believe the wind that whispers in the trees,
The secrets carried on the restless seas.
Believe the patterns etched upon the stone,
The ancient wisdom we have always known.
Though storms may gather, dark and thick and deep,
And promises are harder still to keep,
There is a rhythm moving through the dust,
A call to hope, a mandate meant to trust.
The sunrise paints the horizon in gold,
Defying winter, biting and so cold.
Believe in cycles, turning round and round,
The life that blossoms from the buried ground.
The world is wounded, yes, but healing too,
An endless cycle starting fresh and new.
Believe the strength that lies in human hands,
Rebuilding cities on the shifting sands.
Believe the spark that flickers in the soul,
Even when pieces break away from whole.
Look past the chaos, look beneath the fray,
To find the light that guides the weary way.
There is a pulse, a beating, steady heart,
Where every ending is another start.
Believe the potential, wild and untamed,
The fire that burns, yet never can be shamed.
Accept the challenge, embrace the open light,
And trust the world to guide us through the night.
Yes or No
The choice is placed upon the rusted scale,
To push ahead or turn and lift the sail.
A simple word can change the course of fate,
Before the closing of the heavy gate.
"Yes" is the door that opens to the wild,
The curious wonder of a dreaming child.
It says to take the risk, to dare the leap,
To plant the seeds we hope that we can reap.
"No" is the shield, the wall against the storm,
The safety found in keeping strictly warm.
It sets the boundary, marks the line we draw,
The careful guardian of a sacred law.
Life oscillates between the two extremes,
The waking reality and sleeping dreams.
We weigh the cost, we count the heavy toll,
With every fragment of the weary soul.
Is it a leap? Or is it time to stay?
To find the courage for a different way?
The hesitation hangs within the air,
A heavy burden that we have to bear.
But in the pause, the answer starts to grow,
In the quiet space of yes or no.
There is no map to chart the chosen road,
Or lighten up the heavy, mental load.
We walk the line, we balance on the edge,
Standing upon the narrow, rocky ledge.
One word to seal, one word to break the tie,
Beneath the watch of an unblinking sky.
We choose our path, we set our own design,
Yes or no, the choice is always mine.
