Eva Petropoulou Lianou’s four more poems

Love

is the answer,

love of the self—King,
love of the self—Queen.

Love,
without asking,
love with feeling.

Love,
an energy of free giving,
timeless.

Universe,
wishes,
dreams.

Love,
educate the children to give,
so as adults they may receive.

Golden Bridges

I find you
because you were hurt.

I cherish you
as I felt your pain.

I love you,
and I cover your wounds
with silver,

so you will shine,
you will shine,
you will never break again.

I will create a bridge for every hurt person,
I will build golden pillars.

No one will be hurt again—children or women.

Like diamonds,
they will shine.

We will rise,
and we will be reborn
in a future peaceful world.

Once upon a time, there was a King without a kingdom.

Every day he woke up
and took a walk in the garden.

The birds were singing,
“Here, here comes the King without a kingdom.”

And the peacock repeated,
“Here, here comes the King without a kingdom.”

The King kept walking
until he arrived at the lake.

Beautiful roses, tulips, and jasmine
surrounded the water.

The King bent towards the lake
and asked the water:

“When will my kingdom come to me?
When will my time to rule arrive?”

The water did not answer.

But two orange fish rose from the water
and replied to the King:

“When the sun and the moon meet each other,
when humanity stops killing its brothers and sisters,
when there is no more poverty in this world,
when peace rules the entire planet,

then, master,
you shall have a kingdom.”

Jealousy

Jealousy

means you do not understand the meaning of life.

Jealousy

is when you never appreciate your own life or yourself.

Jealousy

is the shame of looking at the lives of others
and envying them.

Jealousy

is the worst feeling.

It destroys the mind
and the heart of people.

In the end,
we all sleep under the same sky.
