Somali Mukherjee’s four small poems

The Celestial Promise

The molten evening

Promises us all, us all,

“The sun will come up.”

Constant Pursuit

Maintain constancy,

No matter what you desire;

Pursuit matters most.

The Failed Foes

If foes envy you,

Let them, since all this will add

Feathers to your cap.

The Crown

Life’s not a cakewalk;

If you toil, solve each turmoil,

You’re coronated.
