Somali Mukherjee’s four small poems

The Rainy Respite

Let the clouds heap up;

Let it pour down cats and dogs;

Tears are blotted out.

Uncanny?

As the thunder roars,

It vibrates in my within;

Ask me no reason.

The Final Victor

How long can darkness

Conceal the beams of the sun?

Hope does win at last.

Grace, not Pace

What matters the most

Is not how fast you did it;

Bring accuracy.
