Danny P. Barbare’s two poems

The Phone Call

The phone rings with joy, happy to pickup

the

hook my gleeful buttons

pushed

the line to catch

up on old times

through the cord to share

laughter through

the speaker and receiver

to set up a

meeting before the dial

tone,

in the same area code

hanging up with a smile and a calendar.

A Compliment

Today I received a compliment.

And it made me smile

all day.

It affected everything I said and

did.

And everyone wanted

to be around me.

I just wanted to say Thank You.

And Compliment you the same.
