Rajendra Ojha (Nayan)’s poem: The Cursed Jungle

The jungle that was once considered paradise, in a lap of time,

Has now, unimaginably, turned into a cursed one.

Real peace from it has been dismantled smartly—

So the fabricated peace undoubtedly seems real.

Losing its dignity of power, the Lion turns into Kitten, and—

Jackals are worshipped as Lions, as everyone is Jackal there.

'Rest in Peace', Oh, authentic leader of the jungle,

Your cubs are now taught to be the 'Cat' not the 'Lion'.

These cubs are taught to fit the needs of the Jackals.

Because they know, if these Cubs knew their inner strength,

They would be thrown out of this paradise.

So these cunning Jackals created a peaceful, yet fabricated, reality;

And romantically killed all the Eagles of that Jungle, kidnapping the Lioness.

By manipulatively changing the green 'Paradisiacal Jungle';

Into the cursed jungle, where Cubs are turning into modern slaves.

Now that the Jackal is the authority of the Jungle,

Everyone is Jackal now, but know that— Jackal can never be the master.

But alas! As the population of Jackals is increasing,

the cunningness isn't considered a moral crime,

Instead, it has become the symbol of virtue in this jungle.
