Linette Rabsatt’s trio of poems

The Nurturer

seeing him is a richness

of fulfilment,

I cannot understand the depths

of this love,

completion is only secondary

to the achievement

of being nurtured

inspired

and commended by

one who distinctly

resides in loving peace

with himself

his surroundings and

his being,

acceptance of his philosophy

is a mere decision

delighted and uplifted by

the assets of his heart and

loving spirit.

A Lost Jewel

illegally regal

she stands

a lost jewel

with no setting

or settling place

as if she was

lost in space

a hopeless case

ageless but paid less

and under-appreciated

but she's never deviated

from her journey

although her value

depreciated

and her worth

is no longer debated

certainly under-rated

and cascaded into the night

a lost jewel

from the crown of thorns

The Colour of Emotion

If emotion had a colour

my imagination itself would

be splotches of grey and black

because no one colour

can do justice

to describe the range

of emotions or imagination

everyone faces daily

but certainly

all colour splotches combined

create black

and that’s just a surmise

because it’s no surprise

that the rainbow has a colour range

but maybe when that promise

was made

emotion was assigned colours

but today life is harder and much duller

that the colour of our skin

determines the move or

the mood for the day

and you may call that blue

but in truth that may be deep red

and that’s a debate that should

be left unsaid

because emotion encompasses

all divides and sides

and opens wide our love for

living and for life
