Kimberly Green‘s poem: My Identity

I identify as a female

The journey of life has been an uphill

When everyone chooses not to agree

With their birth identity

Kind of like pulling a donkeys tail

I identify as a female

The world is just not the same

You and I are really not to blame

The secret of life is still a mystery

I care not to guess your identity

You have your own boat to sail

I identify as a female

But perception always has the upper hand

A Human being is your brand

My perception is that you are you

No matter if you are male, female or simply one of the  chosen few

I identify and perceive you can be who you want to be

We hang our coveralls on the same nail

I am not a male- I don’t want to be a male- I’m the best of the best because I was born a female
